Dog training: Train your dog to love and trust you

Have you noticed how overly spoiling somebody we love could backfire upon us?

The same is true with your dog. If you give him an inch, next time he will take a yard!

A little spoiling is good, but it can easily be overdone. Yes, your dog is cute and lovable. However, spoiling your dog must also go hand in hand with teaching him obedience and respect.

This is how you can train him to love and trust you.

Your dog loves and trusts you, but he often has a difficult time understanding when you are happy or upset Let him know what pleases you and what upsets you. Do not scold or hit him. Scolding and hitting him reinforces negative behaviviors.

In instances of bad behavior, ignoring your Poopi is more productive. Because your dog loves and trusts you and hate to be ignored, he will do his dog way to get your attention and make you love and trust him.

If he makes you upset, don’t give in. Make him know that you are not happy with his actions, but do so im

mediately after the action so he learns which actions you are trying to correct. To make you happy, he will try to get closer to you and lick you.

Don’t accept his reconciliation until you feel that he understands his behavior was bad. Soon your dog will be more than just cute, he will be a loving and trustful life companion as well.

Remember, violence or scolding will never win your dog’s respect, trust, and love. Don’t bully or dominate your dog to win you’re his love and trust.

This dog training mistake will eventually result in dog bites, which will jeopardize your relationship together. It will turn your dog into a mean, aggressive dog who doesn't care, trust, and love you and lead him to living a life of isolation in an animal shelter waiting to be put to sleep, permanently.
