Dog Training-Turn Your Dog into a Dancing Cutie

I just love watching a dog dance or seeing him stand or hop around on his two hind legs while trying to dance. Don't you?

Dancing dogs are just so cute. Training your dog to dance is fun and who knows, you may end up with a dancing fool!

Dogs love to jump. Remember how your dog loves jumping up on you as you step into the house after a long, hard day’s work?

How about teaching the little dog to dance? What a great dog training trick. Can you just imagine how cute your dog will look as he begins dancing around at your command the next time your friends comes to visit? He will become the next dancing king.

The keys to accomplishing this dog dancing trick are repetition and reinforcement through reward. Whenever your dog jumps on you, say

"Dance! Dance!" and gently hold his front paws and lift them higher up so that he stands up on his hind legs. Praise him and give him the tasty treat he has earned. Gently lower him back to the ground and then repeat the process again and again.

Pick up his front paws and raise him each time to a standing position until he understands your doing. Make dog dancing exercise fun. Dogs don’t know and don’t care about dog training tricks; they just want to have fun and please you to get that tasty dog rewards!

Once he is familiar with the “Dance” command, try getting him to do the same thing with a random treat. Do not over feed your dog; he will get fat and pudgy. You don’t want your new star to end up at Jenny Craig, do you? Or a fat dancing dog?

Cut back on the dog treats; give him hugs or pats instead. Reserve the treats for the next dog training trick to be learned.

Just be patient with your dog and put up with the necessary repetition. Make every dog training trick a fun & active experience for him. If you see your dog is starting to lose interest, stop immediately.

This particular dog dancing training trick provides another benefit. You may find that your dog stops jumping up on you as much as before. In fact, he may take great delight in beginning his little performance like the new dancing fool he really is.
